Tusculum’s Lance Moore Named Men’s Soccer Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Tusculum College goalkeeper Lance Moore has been named South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week, as announced by league officials on Tuesday. Moore is the second Pioneer in as many weeks to be named SAC Player of the Week, joining teammate Bruno Conceicão who won the honor last week.
A native of Morristown, Tenn., Moore has led the third-ranked
Pioneers to a 5-0 start in 2008, posting four shutouts in five
matches this season. The junior goalkeeper recorded his third
consecutive clean sheet last Wednesday against no. 12 Lander,
making five saves to lead the black and orange to a 2-0
victory.
Moore's four shutouts this season have propelled him into second all-time in the program's history with 10 career clean sheets. The 6-2, 185-pound goalkeeper has also posted a 0.20 goal against average so far this season, making 20 saves for a .952 save percentage to rank among the top goalkeepers in NCAA II in both categories.
The unbeaten Pioneers resume their season on Wednesday evening, as they host defending SAC co-Champion Lincoln Memorial University to open SAC competition. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Pioneer Field following the conclusion of the women's soccer match against Southern Virginia.
The SAC Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the sports information directors of the league.
