Tusculum’s Moore, Wingate’s Nyemb Named To Academic All-District Men’s Soccer Team
BRISTOL, Conn. -- Wingate University junior forward Junior Nyemb and Tusculum College junior goalkeeper Lance Moore have been named to theESPN The Magazine Academic All-District College Division Men's Soccer Team.
Nyemb was named to the Disctrict III second team. Moore was named to the District IV second team.
Members of the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team are selected by the College Sports Information Director's of America. District III includes all Division II, III and NAIA schools in Florida, Georgia, Virginia and North and South Carolina. Colleges and universities from Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Ohio and Michigan comprise District IV.

Moore, a 6-2, 190-pound junior from Morristown, Tenn., has posted a 3.33 cumulative grade point average while majoring in Business Administration and Management. This marks the second straight year that Moore has earned this honor.
Moore has started in all 17 matches for the Pioneers this season, posting a sterling 14-2-1 record and an 1.05 goals against average, which ranked 45th in the nation. In 2008, he leads the South Atlantic Conference with nine shutouts, which are one away from the 10 posted in 2002 by former Academic All-American® Tony Swaminathan. Moore has also tied a program record with his 15th career shutout, matching the mark established by Swaminathan from 1999-2002.
He has recorded 60 saves this season to go along with a save percentage of .769.
Tusculum (14-2-1) is ranked eighth nationally in NCAA Division II and is the top-ranked team in the Southeast Region. Tusculum will close out the regular season this Saturday when they host league foe Lenoir-Rhyne for a 4 p.m. match. A win by Tusculum would clinch at least a share of the program's second straight SAC Championship.
Wingate University
Wingate junior forward Junior Nyemb (Douala, Cameroon) was named to the men's soccer second team. Nyemb earns All-District honors for the second time in his career.
Nyemb is third in the South Atlantic Conference with 14 goals this season. Wingate is 9-6-2 overall entering the final weekend of the regular season. A two-time NSCAA All-Appalachian Region first team selection, Nyemb has also been named to the All-SAC team two times. In 2007, Nyemb had 13 goals and five assists. In 2006, he had six goals and six assists.
An active member of Wingate's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Nyemb attended NCAA National Student-Athlete Leadership Development Conference May 25-27, 2008. A Modern Languages major, Nyemb has a 3.45 GPA.

University and Truman State (Mo.) University have produced more Academic All-America® honorees during this time period. Wingate's 39 Academic All-America® honorees (lifetime) is tops among all SAC schools.
