Wingate’s Luke Mulholland Named Men’s Soccer Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Wingate University midfielder Luke Mulholland has been named the South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending November 2, 2009, the league announced Tuesday.
Mulholland, a junior from Preston, England scored three goals and dished out one assist last week as the Bulldogs won two contests to improve to 11-3-1 overall and 6-1-1 in the South Atlantic Conference.
An NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division II All-America third team last
year, Mulholland scored the match-winner in both Wingate victories
last week.
He posted two goals in Wingate's big 2-1 SAC victory over Lincoln
Memorial Saturday. On Wednesday, he tallied one goal and one assist
as Wingate posted a 4-0 home shutout over Queens University of
Charlotte.
Mulholland leads Wingate in scoring with 13 goals. He is also the top person on Wingate's point charts with 29. Eleven of Mulholland's 13 goals this season were scored in SAC play. He leads the league with six match-winning goals.
