SAC Teams Holding Strong in National Soccer Rankings
After extending its winning streak to six-straight matches, the Wingate men’s soccer team has cracked the top 10 of Tuesday’s NSCAA national rankings, while the Mars Hill men and Lenoir-Rhyne women also remain ranked.
KANSAS CITY – After extending its winning streak to six-straight matches, the Wingate men's soccer team has cracked the top 10 of Tuesday's NSCAA national rankings, while the Mars Hill men and Lenoir-Rhyne women also remain ranked.
Wingate moved up to No. 8 in this week's men's poll, jumping from No. 15 last week. The Bulldogs are 8-1 overall and are a perfect 5-0 in the SAC.
Mars Hill, meanwhile, maintained its No. 19 ranking after picking up a win at Anderson to improve to 9-2 overall and 4-1 in the conference.
In the men's southeast region poll, Wingate moved into the top spot, while Mars Hill was ranked No. 3 and Carson-Newman No. 9.
The Lenoir-Rhyne women, also winners of six straight, checked in at No. 20 in this week's women's national poll. The Bears are unbeaten in SAC play at 5-0 and are 9-1 overall.
L-R was ranked No. 3 in the southeast region poll, followed by Tusculum at No. 6 and Catawba, which tied Pfeiffer for the No. 10 spot.
