Lincoln Memorial's Pinto Earns First-Team All-America Honors
Lincoln Memorial junior Mario Pinto, whose 21 goals this season are the third-most in the nation, has been named a first-team All-American by Daktronics, the organization announced on Thursday.
KANSAS CITY – Lincoln Memorial junior Mario Pinto, whose 21 goals this season are the third-most in the nation, has been named a first-team All-American by Daktronics, the organization announced on Thursday.
Pinto, the SAC and Southeast Region Player of the Year, also ranks third in Division II in points with 47. He had four hat tricks and seven game-winning goals in 2012.
The forward recorded five assists this season as well for the Railsplitters, who finished 13-4-1 overall.
Mars Hill sophomore midfielder Alex Mullen was also recognized by Daktronics as an honorable mention All-American. The 2012 All-SAC First Team selection finished third in the SAC in goals with 10 and third in assists with seven this season.
