The South Atlantic Conference Posts Six Soccer Teams on the NCAA Regional Rankings, Oct. 28
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference posted three men's and five women's teams in the NCAA Regional Rankings, the NCAA announced today. Carson-Newman, Wingate and Lincoln Memorial represented the League in the men's Southeast Regional Rankings, while Carson-Newman, Wingate, Anderson, Queens and Lenoir-Rhyne represented the women's teams from the SAC in the Southeast.
The Carson-Newman men, who are ranked No. 21 nationally by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, are currently 12-2-1 overall to rank No. 3 in the region. Wingate is also ranked on the NSCAA poll, taking the No. 19 spot nationally and the Bulldogs record of 12-2-2 overall was good for No. 5. Lincoln Memorial claimed No. 8 with an 11-3 overall record.
The Carson-Newman women, who are ranked No. 15 nationally by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, are currently second in the Southeast Region with a 13-2-0 record. Wingate, who is receiving votes in the NSCAA poll, sits one spot below at No. 3 with its 12-1-1 record. Anderson's record of 13-3-0 lands them at No. 7 while Queens and Lenoir-Rhyne fall in line at eight and nine.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Soccer Committees up to the NCAA Championship selections.
