The South Atlantic Conference Posts Seven Soccer Teams on the NCAA Regional Rankings, Nov. 4
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference posted three men's and six women's teams in the NCAA Regional Rankings, the NCAA announced today. Carson-Newman, Wingate and Lincoln Memorial represented the League in the men's Southeast Regional Rankings, while Carson-Newman, Wingate, Anderson, Queens, Lenoir-Rhyne and Tusculum represented the women's teams from the SAC in the Southeast.
The Carson-Newman men, who are ranked No. 14 nationally by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, are currently 14-2-1 overall and rank No. 2 in the region. Wingate is also ranked on the NSCAA poll, appearing at the No. 23 spot nationally and the Bulldogs remain at No.5 with a 12-3-2 record while Lincoln Memorial moves up to No. 7.
The Carson-Newman women, who are ranked No. 14 nationally by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, are currently first in the Southeast Region with a 15-2-0 record. Wingate, who is receiving votes in the NSCAA poll, is the runner-up with its 13-1-2 record. Queens moves up to No. 7 with a record of 10-5-2 and Lenoir-Rhyne and Anderson fall in line at eight and nine. Tusculum rounded off the top 10 with its 9-7-2 overall record.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Soccer Committees up to the NCAA Championship selections.
