Lenoir-Rhyne's Cascon and Carson-Newman's Silva Named CoSIDA Academic All-Americans for Men's Soccer

AUSTIN, Texas | Two South Atlantic Conference men's soccer student-athletes have been named to the 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II Men's Soccer teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Division II Academic All-America® program.

Based on the absence of most fall sports competition, the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Committee revised some rules and procedures for nominating student-athletes this season. Due to the low percentage of games completed this season, the nominees were selected based on career statistics and achievements.

Representing the SAC are Lenoir-Rhyne's Victor Cascon and Carson-Newman's Thaylan Silva.

Twenty-four of the 33 members of the 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II Men's Soccer teams have at least a 3.80 GPA, with seven student-athletes maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA. The 12 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.93.
