The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Men's Soccer Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Men's Soccer Players of the Week for matches played during the ninth week of the 2021 season. Lenoir-Rhyne defender Nicolas Bohigues was named the offensive player of the week, while Carson-Newman goalkeeper Bram Kaarsgaren was named defensive player of the week.
Bohigues, a graduate student from Valencia, Spain, led the Bears to a pair of wins last week, including a 2-1 win over No. 20 Chowan and a 2-0 victory against Wingate. He picked up an assist on the game-winning goal in overtime against Chowan and then scored the game-winning goal versus Wingate. For the week he had a goal and an assist for three points.
Kaarsgaren, a senior from Den Bosch, Netherlands, recorded six saves in the Eagles' 2-0 win over No. 11 Limestone. Included in his six saves was a huge stop on a penalty kick in the 77th minute. The win secured Carson-Newman's tenth SAC Regular Season Title in program history.
