The South Atlantic Conference Announces WePlayed Sports Men's Soccer Players of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Men's Soccer Players of the Week for games played in during the first week of the 2023 season. Mars Hill's Peter Plougmand was voted the Offensive Player of the Week while Tusculum's Nicolas Leite was voted the Defensive Player of the Week.

Plougmand, a junior from Odense, Denmark, recorded three goals and one assist on the week. He scored twice in Thursday's game against Mount Olive and added another goal and an assist in Saturday's game versus North Greenville.

Leite, a junior from Santo Andre, Brazil, recorded back-to-back shutouts as the Pioneers defeated Lees-McRae 1-0 and Barton 3-0 to open the 2023 season. Leite had three saves against Lees-McRae and four against Barton as Tusculum opened the season at 2-0 for the first time in five years.
