Seven SAC Swimmers Named CSC Academic All-Americans
AUSTIN, Texas – Seven SAC swimmers were named to the 2023-2024 Division II Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Academic All-America Teams, the College Sports Communicators announced.
Four SAC men were named across the three All-America Teams. Carson-Newman’s Asger Hartvig was the sole SAC swimmer to earn First Team honors. The junior holds a 4.00 GPA while studying mathematics.
Carson-Newman’s Benaiah McDowell and Wingate’s Jack Wisniewski were both named to the men’s Second Team. McDowell holds a 3.91 GPA while studying finance, and Wisniewski holds a 4.00 while studying sport management.
Wingate’s Ney Chagas Filho earned a spot on the men’s Third Team with a 3.93 GPA while studying finance.
Three SAC women were honored as Academic All-Americans, all landing on the Third Team. This included Carson-Newman’s Kyla Blakemore and Emma Bowling and Wingate’s Hana Kubalova. Blakemore holds a 3.83 GPA while studying communications, Bowling holds a 4.00 GPA while studying interior design, and Kubalova holds a 3.90 GPA while studying marketing.
