Queens Earns Top Spot in 2021 SAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Preseason Poll
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The Queens University of Charlotte Royals have been picked as the favorites to win the 2021 South Atlantic Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Championship, according to the preseason coaches' poll released today.
The defending champions earned 142 points in the poll, including 10 of 12 first place votes.
Wingate University earned the second spot with 125 points and one first place vote, while Lenoir-Rhyne University placed third in the poll with 121 points and Carson-Newman University placed fourth with 113 points.
Limestone University came in at No. 5 with 98 points and one first place nod, followed by Catawba College at No. 6 with 93 points, and Tusculum University at No. 7 with 86 points.
Coker University took the No. 8 spot with 71 points, while Lincoln Memorial University earned the No. 9 spot with 64 points. Anderson University followed close at No. 10 with 63 points and Newberry College placed eleventh with 42 points. Mars Hill University rounded out the poll at No. 12 with 38 points.
The 2021 SAC Indoor Track & Field season got underway last week and will continue through the first of March.
