The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman's Devon Moore was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, while teammate Kristofer Potts-Howard was named AstroTurf Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets contested March 25 through March 31, the Conference office announced today.
Moore, a sophomore from Baxley, Ga., won both the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash at the Montreat College Invitational last week. His times of 10.40 seconds in the 100 and 20.87 seconds in the 200 are both NCAA Division II provisional times, and move him to second in the nation in both events.
Potts-Howard, a senior from Tullahoma, Tenn., took home first place honors at the Montreat Invitational in the triple jump. His leap of 14.88 meters was an NCAA Division II provisional mark and is the seventh best jump in the nation. In addition to qualifying for the NCAA Division II National Championship, Potts-Howard shattered his personal best jump of 14.57 meters.
