Wingate's Le Grix Voted as SAC Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate's Titouan Le Grix has been named the 2025 South Atlantic Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year, the Conference office announced on Friday (June 6).
Le Grix, a senior from Baillargues, France, caps a year that saw him defend his 2024 National Championship in the 3000-meter steeplechase, posting a gold-medal time of 8:47.62 in Pueblo, Colorado. In addition, he finished second in the NCAA Division II national meet 1500 meters (3:50.09) and 11th in the 5000 meters (14:54.37). Le Grix's victorious NCAA 3000-meter steeplechase time was the fastest ever achieved on Colorado soil. The previous-best time was 8:53.84 by '08 USA Olympian Billy Nelson at the Big 12 championships on May 18, 2008.
Le Grix was the NCAA Division II number one seed in three '25 events: the 3000-meter steeplechase (8:29.02), the 1500 meters (3:34.30) and the 5000 meters (13:28.23). He finished fourth in the SAC 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:21.99. Wingate had the top four runners in the '25 SAC steeplechase.
The SAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year award is determined following the completion of the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championship and is voted on by the league's head coaches.
