Wingate Wins Fourth Straight SAC Men's Cross Country Championship

NEWBERRY, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – For the fourth straight season, the Wingate Bulldogs were crowned the South Atlantic Conference Men's Cross Country Champions. Wingate had seven top-10 finishers to win the championship.

Wingate's Will Aitken was named the Runner of the Year as he won the 8k in 23:46.00. 

Anderson's William Cronin was named the SAC Freshman of the Year, finishing 12th overall with a time of 24:42.6.

After Wingate's winning team score of 19, Anderson came in second with 61 and was followed by Catawba with 84.

Anderson's Kevin Eagle was named the SAC Men's Coach of the Year.

The NCAA Southeast Regional Cross Country meet, which is hosted in Spartanburg, S.C., will take place on Thursday, November 7.
