WePlayed Sports Softball Players of the Week Announced

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Softball Players of the Week for games played during week ten of the 2025 season. Emory & Henry's Hannah Booth was named the Player of the Week and Wingate's Jillian Thomas was named the Pitcher of the Week.

Booth, a freshman from Longwood, Fla., had a big week for the Wasps who went 4-0 with wins over Carson-Newman and nationally-ranked Tusculum. Booth went 9-for-15 with five runs scored, three doubles, two home runs and seven runs driven in. For the week, she hit .600 with a 1.200 slugging percentage. In the finale of the week, she went 4-for-4 with the runs, a HR and three RBI in a 15-4 win over #24 Tusculum.  

Thomas, a junior from Wingate, N.C.., picked up a pair of complete-game wins over the week as the Bulldogs went perfect in league play to clinch their third straight regular season SAC title. Thomas went 12 innings, allowing just 2 runs while striking out 5. Her week was highlighted with a 4-hit shutout against Mars Hill Saturday in a 4-0 victory, handing the Lions their first shutout in league play this season. Thomas went 5 innings against Newberry Wednesday, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits in the complete-game 10-2 win.
