ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – No. 4-seeded Lincoln Memorial completed a remarkable run through the 2026 South Atlantic Conference Softball Championship on Saturday, capturing the tournament title with an 8-5 victory over Anderson in the championship game in Hickory, North Carolina.
The Railsplitters went a perfect 5-0 during the tournament and 3-0 over championship weekend to earn the SAC Tournament Championship crown after entering the postseason as the No. 4 seed. Lincoln Memorial improved to 25-22 overall with the victory.
Trailing 2-1 in the fourth inning, LMU erupted for six runs to take control of the title game. Kristin Griffin tied the game with an RBI walk before Hannah McMeen reached on an error that brought home two more runs. Jordann Reagan then delivered the biggest hit of the afternoon, blasting a three-run home run to left center to give the Railsplitters a 7-2 advantage.
Reagan finished the championship game with four RBIs, while Alyssa Maples added a home run and scored twice. Griffin scored two runs and drove in another as LMU totaled eight runs on seven hits.
Anderson attempted to rally with three runs in the fifth inning, cutting the deficit to 7-5, but the Railsplitters answered with an insurance run in the sixth on a Reagan sacrifice fly.
In the circle, Brooke Strickland earned the win after tossing 4.2 innings, while Katie Fultz closed the door with 2.1 scoreless innings in relief to record the save.
