Turn the clock back to the fall of 1980 and you'll notice that troubles in Iran were front and center in the news, Ronald Reagan was just about to be elected President of the United States, and the NCAA had yet to wrest control of women's college basketball from the AIAW. It's also when Johnny Jacumin was getting set to direct the Wingate University (North Carolina) women's basketball team for the first time.

Seems like a long time ago, eh?

Not for Jacumin. But it does stand as the beginning of a grand career at Wingate for him, one which will end at the conclusion of this season when the legendary coach retires.
