Tusculum’s Jasmine Gunn Named Women’s Basketball Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Tusculum College's Jasmine Gunn has been named the South Atlantic Conference women's basketball Player of the Week for the week ending January 17, 2011.
Gunn, a senior guard from Nashville, Tenn. (Antioch HS), averaged 19.5 points and 4.5 rebounds as the Pioneers picked up road wins at Carson-Newman (71-55) and league-leading Catawba (70-59) last week.
Gunn finished with a game-high 19 points and added seven
rebounds and six assists in the victory over Carson-Newman, and
tallied a team-high 20 points in 28 minutes of action against
Catawba. Gunn's 20-point effort against Catawba enabled her to move
into sixth place on the SAC all-time scoring list with 1,890
points. The 2010 SAC Player of the Year and Food Lion Tournament
MVP, she leads the Pioneers in scoring (19.4 ppg), assists (41) and
steals (24) and is shooting 79.5 percent (93-for-117) from the foul
line.
