Three SAC Teams In NCAA Women’s Basketball Region Poll
INDIANAPOLIS - Three South Atlantic Conference women's basketball teams are currently ranked in the top ten of the NCAA Division II Southeast Region rankings.
Mars Hill College leads the way being ranked seventh in the first poll of the season, while Tusculum College is right behind them ranked eighth. Catawba College rounds out the poll finishing in tenth.
The regional rankings will be released weekly on Wednesdays through March 2, 2011.
Records are through Sunday, January 23.
Six teams from each of the eight regions will advance to the NCAA Division II tournament. In the Southeast region, tournament champions from the SAC, Peach Belt and Conference Carolinas will receive an automatic bid.
