Tusculum’s Catherine Hintz Named Women’s Basketball Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Tusculum College's Catherine Hintz has been named the South Atlantic Conference women's basketball Player of the Week for the week ending February 6, 2011.
Hintz, a senior center from Hastings, Minn. (Central Illinois), posted back-to-back 20-point games and shot 62.1 percent from the field as Tusculum extended its winning streak to eight consecutive games. She wins the award for the second time this season.
Hintz tallied 20 points and tied her season high with 13 rebounds in a 53-51 overtime win at Lincoln Memorial on Wednesday night, and followed up with 20 points on 9-for-12 shooting along with six boards as the Pioneers defeated Brevard 87-57 on Saturday.
In 12 SAC games, Hintz is averaging 11.4 points and 7.9 rebounds
per game and shooting 57.4 percent from the field despite playing
just 18.0 minutes per game off the bench. Overall, Hintz is
averaging 9.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game for the
Pioneers.
