The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Basketball Players of the Week, Dec. 1
Carson-Newman forward Jessica Simerly has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman forward Jessica Simerly has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Nov. 24-30, the League announced today.
Simerly, a freshman from Morristown, Tenn., averaged 18.0 points per game to lead the Eagles to a pair of wins last week. She got her week started with 14 points on 54 percent from the floor to go along with eight rebounds, four assists and two steals in an 80-69 win over Mars Hill on Nov. 25. Four days later against North Greenville, Simerly connected on 10-of-14 from the floor and two from the line to finish with 22 points as the Eagles defeated the Crusaders, 73-57. She also chipped in four boards and an steal in the win. The honor is her first Player of the Week plaudit this season.
