The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Basketball Players of the Week, Jan. 20
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Catawba guard Bri Johnson has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 12-18, the League announced today.
Johnson, a sophomore from Statesville, N.C., put in 20.5 points per game to lead the Catawba Indians to a pair of South Atlantic Conference wins last week. She highlighted her week with a career-best 26 points, to go along with seven rebounds and one assist in an 85-72 win over Mars Hill on Jan. 17. Against Coker on Jan. 14, Johnson posted a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double as Catawba picked up a 77-61 win over the Cobras. She also added four assists and one steal in the win. The award marks her second Player of the Week nod this season.
Also nominated for Women's Basketball Player of the Week: Jennifer Monroe (Anderson), Madison Lenox (Brevard), Tanesha Stenson (Coker), Megan Pittman (Lincoln Memorial), Camille Glymph (Mars Hill), Shynese Whitener (Tusculum) and Chantal Dunbar (Wingate).
