The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week, Feb. 9

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Brevard guard Katie Williams has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 2-8, the League announced today.

Williams, a junior from Robbinsville, N.C., averaged 25.5 points per game and shot 50 percent from the field to lead the Tornados to a pair of South Atlantic Conference wins last week.  She got her week started with 24 points on 64 percent from the floor, 2-of-4 from long range and a perfect 8-of-8 at the line to propel the Tornados to an 80-63 win over Mars Hill on Feb. 4.  She also came away with four rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals in the win over the Lions.  Three days later against Queens, Williams stayed hot as she finished with 27 points, to go along with four assists, three rebounds and a steal.  The honor marks her first Player of the Week selection this season.
