The South Atlantic Conference Posts Five Women's Basketball Teams in the NCAA Regional Rankings
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference posted five teams in the NCAA Regional Women's Basketball Rankings, the NCAA announced today. Anderson led the way for the SAC in the Southeast Region at No. 3, while Wingate earned the No. 6 position. Carson-Newman was slated at No. 7 and Newberry came in at No. 9. Catawba rounds out the list for the SAC in the Southeast Region at No. 10.
The Trojans are currently ranked No. 22 in the Division II National Media Poll and are 19-3 overall. The Bulldogs are 18-7 on the 2015 campaign, while Carson-Newman sports an overall record of 16-8. The Wolves are currently 16-7 overall as the Catawba Indians are posting an overall record of 14-8.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
