The South Atlantic Conference Posts Five Women's Basketball Teams in the NCAA Regional Rankings
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference posted five teams in the NCAA Regional Women's Basketball Rankings, the NCAA announced today. Anderson led the way for the SAC in the Southeast Region at No. 3, while Wingate earned the No. 5 position. Carson-Newman was slated at No. 6, Newberry was slotted No. 7 and Catawba rounded out the list for the SAC at No. 9.
The Trojans earned their second SAC Women's Basketball Championship in three years and are 23-3 overall. The Bulldogs are 21-8 on the 2015 campaign, while Carson-Newman sports an overall record of 19-9. Newberry is currently 18-10 this season and Catawba sports an overall record of 17-9.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
