Carson-Newman's Price Named AstroTurf Women's Basketball Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during Jan. 28 through Feb. 3. Carson-Newman's Haris Price garnered Player of the Week honors.
A senior guard, Price became the first Eagle in 40 years to score 40 or more points in a game, while leading Carson-Newman to two victories on the week. The Gatlinburg, Tenn. native collected 44 points in the win at Lenoir-Rhyne to tally the fifth-highest scoring total in Division II this season, shooting over 60 percent from the floor and 57.1 percent behind the three-point arc. On the week, Price averaged 31.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, four assists, and 4.5 steals. This is Price's second Player of the Week honor of the season.
