Four South Atlantic Conference Schools Ranked in NCAA Southeast Region Women's Basketball Poll
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference had four schools ranked in the NCAA Southeast Region Women's Basketball poll of the 2019-20 season, which was released by the NCAA on Wednesday (Feb. 26). Catawba moved up two spots to No. 4, followed by Anderson at No. 5, Tusculum at No. 6 and Carson-Newman coming in at No. 7.
In addition to the four SAC schools ranked in this week's poll, there were also four schools from the Peach Belt and two from Conference Carolinas.
The Catawba Indians earned the No. 4 spot in the ranking with a record of 21-4 overall. The Catawba Indians are currently second in the SAC teams conference standings.
The Anderson Trojans dropped one spot this week with an overall record of 22-4, while the Tusculum Pioneers moved up one spot with a 19-6 record overall.
The Carson-Newman Eagles fell two spots with an overall record of 19-7.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
