Anderson, Carson-Newman, Catawba and Tusculum Ranked in NCAA Southeast Region Women's Basketball Poll
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference had four schools ranked in the NCAA Southeast Region Women's Basketball poll of the 2019-20 season, which was released by the NCAA on Wednesday (Mar. 4). Anderson moved up one spot to No. 4, followed by Carson-Newman at No. 5, Catawba at No. 6 and Tusculum coming in at No. 7.
In addition to the four SAC schools ranked in this week's poll, there were also four schools from the Peach Belt and two from Conference Carolinas.
The Anderson Trojans took back the No. 4 spot this week with an overall record of 24-4, while the Carson-Newman Eagles moved up two spots with an overall record of 21-7.
The Catawba Indians dropped to No. 6 in the ranking with a record of 22-5 overall. The Tusculum Pioneers took the final SAC spot finishing out the regular season 20-7 record overall.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
