Carson-Newman's Taylor Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Basketball Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) –The South Atlantic Conference announced the AstroTurf Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played in the ninth week of the 2020-21 season. Carson-Newman's Lindsey Taylor earns this week's Player of the Week honor.
A sophomore forward, Taylor, helped lead the Eagles to a 3-0 conference record this past week. She picked up 33 points and 10 rebounds against Mars Hill, while adding 14 more rebounds in their Win over Tusculum. She went on to garner 21 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks versus Wingate to close out the weekend. Taylor averaged 18.7 points, 11.3 rebounds and one block per game on the week. Overall, the Maryville, Tenn., native averaged 66.7 percent from the floor, while also going 14-for-21 from the line. This is Taylor's first Player of the Week honor this season.
