Carson-Newman's Wykle Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Basketball Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) –The South Atlantic Conference announced the AstroTurf Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played in the eleventh week of the 2020-21 season. Carson-Newman's Braelyn Wykle earns this week's Player of the Week honor.
A sophomore guard, Wykle, helped lead the Eagles to a 3-0 conference record this past weekend. She picked up 20 points, four rebounds and six assists against Anderson, while garnering a team-high 33 points, two rebounds and two assists at Wingate. To close the weekend, she pulled together 23 points, five rebounds and two assists versus Queens. Wykle played a total of 103 minutes and averaged 25.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and four assists per game. Overall, the Greenville, Tenn., native averaged 48.1 percent from the floor, while also going 9-for-18 from the three-point line. This is Wykle's first Player of the Week honor this season.
