Carson-Newman's Wykle Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Basketball Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) –The South Atlantic Conference announced the AstroTurf Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played in the twelfth week of the 2020-21 season. Carson-Newman's Braelyn Wykle earns this week's Player of the Week honor.

A sophomore guard, Wykle, helped lead the Eagles to a 2-0 conference record this past weekend. She picked up a team-high of 30 points and collected 8 assists against UVA Wise, while garnering 20 points, three rebounds and four assists at Catawba. Wykle played a total of 79 minutes and averaged 25 points, 4.5 rebounds and six assists per game. Overall, the Greeneville, Tenn.., native averaged 53.1 percent from the floor, while also going 6-for-10 from the three-point line. This is Wykle's second consecutive Player of the Week honor this season.
