Tusculum's Sutton Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Basketball Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) –The South Atlantic Conference announced the AstroTurf Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played in the thirteenth week of the 2020-21 season. Tusculum's Maddie Sutton earns this week's Player of the Week honor.

A graduate student forward Sutton, helped lead the Pioneers to the No. 1 spot in the SAC rankings and a 2-0 conference record this past weekend. She picked up 15 points, 16 rebounds and five assists versus Lincoln Memorial, while garnering a career-high 33 points, 11 rebounds and five assists at Coker. Sutton played a total of 78 minutes and averaged 24 points, 13.5 rebounds and five assists per game. Overall, the Walland, Tenn., native averaged 53.1 percent from the floor, while also going 14-for-16 from the free-throw line. This is Sutton's second Player of the Week honor this season.
