Wingate's Brandon Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Basketball Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) –The South Atlantic Conference announced the AstroTurf Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played in the sixth week of the 2021-21 season, Wingate's Haleigh Brandon earns this week's Player of the Week honor.

A senior guard Brandon, helped lead the Bulldogs to a 2-0 record this past weekend. She picked up 21 points, five assists and 18 rebounds in their win over Queens, while garnering 18 points, 15 rebounds and two assists in a huge win over Mars Hill. Brandon played a total of 52 minutes and averaged 19.5 points, 16.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. Overall, the Lexington, N.C., native averaged 53.8 percent from the floor, while also going 14-for-26 from the field. This is Brandon's first Player of the Week honor this season.
