Carson-Newman's Wykle Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Basketball Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) –The South Atlantic Conference announced the AstroTurf Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played in the ninth week of the 2021-21 season, Carson-Newman's Braelyn Wykle earns this week's Player of the Week honor.
A junior guard Wykle, helped lead the Eagles to a 2-0 record this past weekend. She picked up 36 points, three assists, five three-pointers and five rebounds in their win over UVA Wise, while garnering 12 points, six rebounds and two assists in a huge win over Anderson. Wykle played a total of 72 minutes and averaged 24.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. Overall, the Greeneville Tenn., native averaged 45.7 percent from the floor, while also going 16-for-35 from the field. This is Wykle's first Player of the Week honor this season.
