Emory & Henry's Yarber Named South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Basketball Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) –Emory & Henry forward Breanna Yarber has been named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during week eight of the 2022-23 season, the Conference announced today.
Yarber, a redshirt freshman from Meadowview, Va., put up a pair of 20-point games for Emory & Henry as the Wasps opened 2023. She shot 70.4 percent from the field, going 19-for-27. In Wednesday's 27-point win over Mars Hill, Yarber scored a career-best 27 points which was the most for any Emory & Henry player this year. She was 10-for-13 (77%) from the field, hit all seven free throws and made it a double-double with 10 rebounds. Yarber also added two blocks.
