Catawba and Wingate Women's Basketball Ranked in WBCA Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Catawba and Wingate women's basketball were both ranked in the WBCA NCAA Division II Preseason Top 25 Women's Basketball Coaches Poll, released Tuesday (Oct. 31).
Catawba earned the No. 4 spot with 450 points. The Catawba Indians ended their historic 2022-23 season ranked at No. 6 with a program-record 29 wins, first regional title, first appearance in a regional final, Elite Eight and Final Four and matched the program's longest home winning streak at 20.
Wingate was voted No. 14 with 194 points. The Bulldogs finished the 2022-23 season unranked with an overall record of 23-8 after earning their 20th NCAA Tournament bid, advancing to the regional semifinals.
