Catawba's Thorne Named South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women's Basketball Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Catawba's Lyrik Thorne has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the seventh week of the 2023-34 season, the Conference announced today.

Thorne, a graduate student from High Point, N.C., scored a team-high 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field along with four assists, two steals and a block to lead No. 4 Catawba to a 66-61 win over 2023 NCAA Regional participant UNC Pembroke on December 19. The Catawba Indians hold the longest home win streak in the country at 26 games.
