Wingate's Hege Named South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women's Basketball Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate's Emily Hege has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the ninth week of the 2023-34 season, the Conference announced today.
Hege, a sophomore from Lexington, N.C., averaged 21 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, adding five steals to lead the Bulldogs to a pair of SAC victories highlighted by the win over No. 4 Catawba. Hege had 18 points on 6-11 shooting in the Catawba win, adding six boards, two steals and an assist. She had 24 points on 10-16 shooting in the Mars Hill victory, going 3-5 from deep while adding six assists, five boards and three steals. Hege leads the nation in three-point percentage this season, helping the 'Dogs lead the nation as a team.
