UVA Wise's Ross Named South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women's Basketball Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – UVA Wise's Caitlyn Ross has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the sixteenth week of the 2023-34 season, the Conference announced today.

Ross, a senior from Kingston, Tenn., poured in a personal, school, and South Atlantic Conference high 47 points in the Cav's 99-95 double overtime victory over Tusculum on Wednesday. Ross's 47 points are the most in a single game in UVA Wise women's basketball history, dating back to 1983. They also tie the SAC record for points in a game and are the most scored in a game by an NCAA Division II women's player this season. Ross also had a career-high eight three-pointers in the contest to tie the school record. On the week, Ross averaged 29.5 points, five rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 2.5 steals.
