McDowell Garners D2CCA All-America Third Team
Anderson, S.C. – Anderson University senior forward Diamond McDowell continues to garner post season awards earning a spot on the D2CCA All-America Team released by the association on Tuesday afternoon.
McDowell led the NCAA Division II in defensive rebounds per game (9.6) and ranked third nationally in double-doubles (20) while averaging 18.6 points (T-22nd in NCAA) and 12.6 rebounds per game (2nd in NCAA).
A three-time SAC Player of the Week and two-time WBCA National Player of the Week, McDowell was named SAC Tournament MVP and earned spots on the SAC First Team, D2CCA Southeast All-Region Team and the WBCA All-America Team (HM). She also set a program record for career double-doubles (58) and became just the second player in Anderson history to surpass 1,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds.
