Lincoln Memorial Earns the No. 1 Seed as Four SAC Teams Make up the Division II Southeast Regional
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Four South Atlantic Conference women's basketball teams were selected to the field of 64 teams as the NCAA announced the bracket for the 2026 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championship Sunday evening. Lincoln Memorial earned the No. 1 seed in the Southeast Region and will host the regional tournament, while Lenoir-Rhyne is the No. 2 seed, Coker earned the No. 3 seed and Carson-Newman was selected as the No. 5 seed.
Lincoln Memorial secured the top seed in the Southeast Region and will host the eight-team regional in Harrogate, Tennessee. The Railsplitters enter the NCAA Tournament looking to take advantage of their home floor as they pursue a spot in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight.
Lenoir-Rhyne, the 2025-26 South Atlantic Conference regular-season champion, earned the No. 2 seed in the region following a strong campaign that saw the Bears finish atop the league standings.
Coker secured the conference's automatic bid after winning its first-ever South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Tournament championship on Saturday. The Cobras defeated Carson-Newman in the title game to cap a historic season for the program and will head into the NCAA Tournament as the No. 3 seed.
Carson-Newman received an at-large selection after advancing to the SAC Tournament championship game. The Eagles will be making their 13th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history and continue to be one of the SAC's most successful postseason programs.
