Anderson Takes the Lead After Round One of the 2022 SAC Women's Golf Championship

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The Anderson Trojans fired an eight-over-par 296 as a team to take a three-shot lead over the Limestone Saints (+11, 299) in the opening round of the 2022 South Atlantic Conference Women's Golf Championship at the Hartsville Country Club in Hartsville, S.C.
The Saints are followed by the Wingate Bulldogs (+15, 303) in third and the Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters (+19, 307) in fourth. Just 11 strokes separate the next seven teams with Carson-Newman (+22, 310) in fifth, Catawba (+27, 315) in sixth, Newberry (+29, 317) in seventh, and Queens and Coker (+30, 318) are tied for eighth with Tusculum (+32, 320) rounding out the top-10. Mars Hill (+55, 343) and UVA Wise (+77, 365) are in 12th and 13th.
Individually, Limestone's Taylor Oberparleiter leads the field after carding an opening round two-under-par 70. She is followed by Anderson's Kennedy McGaha in second after a one-under-par 71 and fellow Trojan Jessica Rathbone is in third after an even-par 72.
