Wingate's Bochaton and Lamm Repeat as Women's Golf Player and Coach of the Year; Roberts Named Freshman of the Year
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – For the second consecutive season, Wingate's Amely Bochaton has been voted the SAC Women's Golf Player of the Year, the league office announced today. Bochaton's dominant season has led Wingate Bulldogs to the No. 1 national ranking, and she currently stands as the top-ranked golfer in all of NCAA Division II.
Joining Bochaton for a second straight season is SAC Coach of the Year J.D. Lamm, who earns the honor in back-to-back years.
Anderson's Olivia Roberts was named the league's Freshman of the Year. Individual awards and All-Conference teams are determined by a vote of the league's head coaches.
Bochaton, a sophomore from Evian-les-Bains, France, owns a 69.2 adjusted stroke average and has recorded five wins, two runner-up finishes, and two third-place finishes across nine tournaments this season. She was the 2025 National Player of the Year, in addition to earning SAC Player and Freshman of the Year honors, and has been even more impressive in her sophomore campaign.
Lamm has the Bulldogs primed for a postseason run as the nation's top team. Wingate opened the season with first-place finishes in four consecutive tournaments. In total, the Bulldogs have won seven tournaments and added one runner-up finish. The team boasts a 286.4 adjusted scoring average and is 131-7 against Division II opponents.
Roberts has helped Anderson stay close behind, ranking No. 3 in the nation. She is currently the nation's 12th-ranked player and eighth in the region. Roberts holds a 72.8 adjusted scoring average and has recorded two top-three finishes this season. She finished runner-up at the Ralph Hayes Toyota D2 Elite Invitational in October and has totaled five top-10 finishes.
In addition to the individual awards, the First, Second, and Third Team All-Conference selections were announced. Wingate and Anderson combined for all five First Team selections and had two apiece on the Second Team. Carson-Newman placed two golfers on the Third Team.
The 2026 SAC Women's Golf Championship tees off Sunday with 36 holes, as a new tournament format will be unveiled. The event will feature 54 holes of stroke play, followed by medal match play to determine the champion on Tuesday. The No. 1 and No. 4 seeds, along with the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds, will face off Tuesday morning, with the winners advancing to the championship match Tuesday afternoon.
