Wingate and Anderson Sit in Second and Third After Day Two of Women's Golf; Bochaton With Eight Shot Lead Individually
PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLA. -- Wingate and Anderson sit in second and third place respectively after day two of the NCAA Division II Women's Golf National Championship. Individually, Wingate's Amely Bochaton has built an eight shot lead over the rest of the field.
Bochaton carded a -5 in round two, the best score in the field. The number one player in the nation is now -9 after two rounds, eight shots clear of Henderson State's Lily Nelson and Dallas Baptist's Ella Cheek.
Anderson's duo of Olivia Roberts (+3) and Aly Francis (+4) each finished inside the top 10 with Roberts tied for seventh and Francis tied for ninth.
Wingate's team score of +12 puts them just one shot behind Dallas Baptist with 18 holes left to play in stoke play. The Bulldogs' shot +1 as a squad in the second round, the second best score of the day.
Anderson is tied for third place at +26 as a team.
The top eight teams move on to match play after today's round.
