Lenoir-Rhyne’s Ryan, Wingate’s Lynch Earn Inaugural SAC Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Lenoir-Rhyne junior Jamie Ryan and Wingate freshman Jayda Lynch have been selected as the first SAC women's lacrosse weekly award winners in conference history, it was announced on Monday.
SAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week | Jamie Ryan, Lenoir-Rhyne
Ryan led all scorers in Lenoir-Rhyne's 19-2 victory over St. Andrew's on Sunday, finishing with four goals. The midfielder also recorded a pair of ground balls for the Bears.
Ryan's strong play helped Lenoir-Rhyne score the first 10 goals of the contest, including four in the first five minutes.
SAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week | Jayda Lynch, Wingate
Lynch stopped 11 shots in the goal on Sunday as Wingate won its season opener over Methodist, 16-10. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native recorded saves on 52.4-percent of Methodists' shots, and also added four ground balls.
As a team, Wingate limited Methodist to 27 shots and held a 33-27 advantage on ground balls.
