Women's Lacrosse All-Conference and Award Winners Announced
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate's Stacy Glover has been selected as the 2026 South Atlantic Conference Women's Lacrosse Attacker of the Year and Freshman of the Year, as the league's head coaches released the All-Conference teams and individual award winners. Wingate also swept two additional major honors, with Kathryn McCabe earning Defensive Player of the Year and Abby Wiley being named Coach of the Year. Anderson's Megan Muir was tabbed as the Midfielder of the Year.
Glover, a freshman attacker from Oviedo, Fla., leads the South Atlantic Conference with 66 goals, helping the Bulldogs to an undefeated conference season and a fourth straight SAC Regular Season title. She ranks third in the league with 71 points and set a program record with 10 goals in a single game. Her 66 goals are tied for the second-most in a single season in program history.
McCabe, a junior from Alpharetta, Ga., anchored a dominant Wingate defense that allowed just 6.2 goals per game this season. She ranks third in the conference with 42 caused turnovers, while adding 50 ground balls and 78 draw controls. Thanks in part to McCabe's efforts, Wingate held opponents under double digits in 14 games and allowed just nine total goals over its final four contests. This marks the second consecutive season McCabe has earned Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Muir, a sophomore from Bedford, N.H., followed up her Freshman of the Year campaign with another standout season. In 18 games, she totaled 38 goals and 16 assists, while adding 44 ground balls, 91 draw controls, and 32 caused turnovers. She recorded seven hat tricks on the year, including a season-high five goals against Mars Hill.
Wiley, in her eighth season at Wingate, earns her fifth SAC Coach of the Year honor. Under her leadership, the Bulldogs captured their fourth straight SAC Regular Season title with a perfect 10-0 conference record. Wingate is 14-3 overall and has been nationally ranked throughout the season.
