Wingate’s Kerstin Williams Named Women’s Soccer Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Wingate University junior forward Kerstin Williams is this week's South Atlantic Conference women's soccer Player of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday afternoon.
Williams earns SAC Player of the Week honors for the second time in her career.
Williams (Summerville, S.C. / Summerville HS) and her Wingate
teammates were busy last week, playing four matches in seven days.
The All-SAC performer had five goals for the Bulldogs as Wingate
compiled a 3-0-1 overall record to open the 2009 campaign.
She posted three goals in a 5-0 victory over Mount Olive College and single goals against Coker College and Barton College. Williams leads the Bulldogs with five goals on the season. In four matches this season, Wingate has outscored its opposition 18-1.
In 2008, Williams was second on the team and tied for eighth in the SAC with nine goals. The league's coaches voted Williams to the All-SAC first team last year.
