Catawba’s Maria Borland Named Women’s Soccer Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Catawba College midfielder Maria Borland has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending October 26, the league announced Tuesday.
Borland, a freshman from Hagerstown, MD (North Hagerstown HS),
scored both goal in a 2-1 win over Lincoln Memorial in the Lady
Indians' lone match of the week. The win kept Catawba in the race
for the runner-up spot in the league standings. Borland scored just
before the half at LMU then added a second goal 15 minutes into the
second half for a 2-0 edge. The two goals gives her a team-leading
five on the season.
