Lenoir-Rhyne’s Katelyn Burwell Named Women’s Soccer Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne University goalkeeper Katelyn Burwell has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending November 2, the league announced Tuesday.
Burwell, a senior from Carthage, N.C. (Pinecrest HS) led
Lenoir-Rhyne to a 2-0 week with wins over Pfeiffer (1-0) and
Tusculum (2-1). Burwell tallied a shutout againt the Falcons,
making two saves, before limiting the Pioneers to just one goal and
recording six saves. Lenoir-Rhyne's victory over Tusculum denied
the Pioneers the 2009 SAC Regular Season Championship. Burwell has
a 1.24 goals-against average to go along with three shutouts.
